The Keeper of the Tartan: Jim Fulton
Jim has ably served as Keeper of the Tartan on the BSS committee since 2011.
Jim spent the first 35 years of his life in Glasgow, and studied engineering at Strathclyde University where he had his fist encounter with Aquavit. It was not a pleasant experience.
In 1982 he and his family (including his Norwegian wife) moved to Denmark (Esbjerg) and then in 1985 they moved on to Norway to settle in Bergen.
All of Jim’s children live in Bergen, including his 6 grand children. Although Jim does not play the bag pipes he if proud that his son Roger, has managed carrying on this Scottish tradition.
Jim is an avid sailor and has crossed the North Sea 19 times, in his 34 ft sailing boat. He enjoys most out door pursuits but has a special interest for dancing (swing, tango, salsa)….and of course Scottish country dancing.
Having lived abroad for approx. 30 years, Jim is anxious to maintain his Scottish heritage and to try to pass this on to his children and grandchildren.
